The Malls

Now that we went around the city for shopping, it is time for me to show you the mainstream malls right in the heart of downtown Bangkok.

Most of all the shops and department stores are mostly located on Rama IV Road. All the malls around Bangkok can be reached by the sky train, BTS. I highly recommend traveling through the sky train. The traffic can be extremely horrible!

The first stop I will take you is the Phrom Phong station.
Emporium is the name of the mall. It is known for its high end brand name shops.
It also has the luxury hotel right next to the mall.

The next station is Chit Lom.
Central Chit Lom is one of the oldest malls in Thailand.
It is known for its fantastic fusion food court "Food Loft."
It is also known for its high end brand names.

There are all kinds of food here..
Thai, Japanese, Korean, American, Italian, Vietnamese, Indian, Chinese, you name it!

The next station is at Siam station.
Siam Paragon and Central World are one of the newest malls in Bangkok.
They are super complex malls that offers clothing, electronics, super cars, make ups, jewelry, bowling arena, cinema, aquarium, and food court.

Siam Paragon..
Central World..

There are many other malls to check out as well :)

AMPAWA FLOATING MARKET

Other than shopping at JJ Market, the other must go attraction is the Ampawa Floating Market. The market is located in Samut Songkram province. Unlike other markets, Ampawa is open in the afternoon. Not a lot of foreigners have heard of this place. Even some Thais have never been there.

At the market, you will find Thai boats all over the river. Each boat actually sells food and authentic Thai desserts that are very rare to find in the city. And of course, the price of the products are cheap and reasonable!
the market..
thai desserts..
thai food..
you can also take a ride in the boat for sight seeing. it will only cost you around 50 cents!
the market opens until 8 pm!!

it is a unique place to get a taste of Thai culture :)

a day in bangkok

There are tons of things to do in and outside of Bangkok. One of the best thing to do in Bangkok is probably shopping. At "Jatujak Market,"or JJ Market, you can find anything from shoes, brand name bags, home decorations, plants, pets, YOU NAME IT! At JJ Market, you can get the same product as displayed in the mall for at least 50% cheaper!!

HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS...

arts and crafts..

clothing shops..

and much much more!!

CLEAR OUT YOUR SCHEDULE WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO JJ MARKET, BECAUSE THERE ARE MORE THAN 15,000 STORES FOR YOU TO SHOPP!!!

here is the market directory..

its HUGE!

REMEMBER TO WEAR LIGHT CLOTHING BECAUSE MOST OF THE SHOPS ARE NON-AIR-CONDITIONED. THERE ARE AT LEAST 300,000 VISITORS EACH DAY TO THE MARKET. PREPARE TO BE VERY HOT AND CROWDED!!

*ALSO, JJ MARKET IS OPEN ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ONLY!

Don't worry if you don't know where the market is. You can always take the BTS (sky train) to Jatujak station. It is convenient and cheap. A round trip will cost you around $2!

<---- BTS

ALTHOUGH JATUJAK MARKET WILL MAKE YOU SWEAT LIKE CRAZY, I AM SURE YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED :)

"Bangkok..what??"

The common stereotype of "Bangkok" is the city of prostitute and protests. I have been living in Bangkok all my life. Those words are definitely not the first words that comes to my mind when I think of this mysterious city. Bangkok is more magical that anyone could ever expect. The purpose of this blog is to create a whole new path that allows you to walk through and experience what is truly "Bangkok."

Thailand is located in Southeast Asia.
And no, it is not Taiwan.
I have encountered endless amount of people who thought Thailand is actually Taiwan. No!!!
We do not even speak the same language.
We speak Thai. Taiwanese speaks Chinese..

WHEN I THINK ABOUT BANGKOK, I ALWAYS GET THE HOMESICK FEELING :(
I MISS thai food!

i would like to introduce to you one of the most famous thai dishes that i miss so much!
